We invite you to participate in the 7th Annual Heart of the City Half Marathon. All participants must be 12 years of age or older. The half marathon run will start and finish near the Heart of the City of Burnsville . You may register online now. You can mail in your registration, it must be post-marked on or before May 28, 2010.

Again in 2010: Chip timing will be used for the ˝ Marathon and results will be provided by RaceberryJam. Chips will be available at registration and returned at the finish line area.

ENTRY FEE: $35.00 thru May 1; $40 thru May 28; and $45 on RACE DAY. On-line registration closes on June 1st at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. Runners who register in advance will receive a runners t-shirt and finishers medallion. Entry fee on race day is $45.00. Race day registration opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at 7:30 a.m. at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center in the heart of Burnsville. Entry fees are non-refundable, and the transfer of race numbers is NOT allowed. Click here for Pledge Sheet.

TIME REQUIREMENT: A policy regarding time requirements will be implemented for the half marathon. The policy requires participants to maintain a 14-minute per mile pace (finish in 3:03:40).

PACKET PICK-UP:Race packets will be available for pick-up (for half marathon runners) on Friday between 12:30 and 7:00 pm, or on race day beginning at 6:00 am at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center located at 12600 Nicollet Avenue in Burnsville. 5K runners can pick up their t-shirt at the Performing Arts Center during the above times.

RACE DAY PARKING: Parking is available for runners and spectators in various parking lots around the immediate area of Nicollet Commons Park and at the MVTA station located on the northeast corner of Highway 13 and Nicollet Avenue.

LOCATION: Beautiful course that starts and finishes near the Heart of the City of Burnsville. This is mostly an out-and-back course that runs along the Minnesota River and Black Dog Lake. Click here for maps.

REGISTRATION: Register Now Online. On-line Registration closes on May 1st at 5:00 p.m. Entry fee on race day is $45.00 and registration opens at 6:00 a.m. at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center in the heart of Burnsville.

SHUTTLE BUS: A shuttle bus will be provided and will run between the start and finish lines of the half marathon. Runners and spectators may use the bus to travel to and from the finish line area at Cliff Fen Park and the start line area at Nicollet Commons Park. The shuttle service will be available between 7:30 am and 10:30 am.

AWARDS: A brief awards ceremony for half marathon runners will follow the race and is scheduled at approximately 10:00 am at Cliff Fen Park (rain or shine). Great Prizes given to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers from Run N’ Fun in each of 13 age groups! Click here for prizes.

The 5k is a fun run and although it is a certified course there will be no official timekeeping.  A race clock will be at the finish line for runners to keep track of their time.
